To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China Diplomatic Relations, “Zheng He” is jointly presented by the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur and the Chinese Bridge Club (Kuala Lumpur), supported by the Ministry of National Unity Malaysia and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia. Produced by The Interview, “Zheng He” is presented in two episodes: “Embarking on New Horizons” and “Growing Beyond Borders.”
Adopting the unique lens of Admiral Zheng He’s historic voyages, “Zheng He” showcases the profound history of Malaysia-China friendship through modern multimedia technology. The video integrates captivating visuals, rich archival materials, and emotive narration, featuring on-site filming across Malaysian states including Malacca, Penang, and Terengganu. It invites audiences to traverse time and relive the splendor of this historic era. “Zheng He” also includes exclusive interviews with distinguished scholars and experts, as well as treasured memories and stories from the local community, delivering a multidimensional portrayal of the depth and richness of Malaysia-China relations.
The “ZHENG HE” will premiere globally online on December 20 (Friday) and December 27 (Friday), 2024, at 8:00 p.m. Audiences can access both episodes, “Embarking on New Horizons” and “Growing Beyond Borders” via the official Facebook platforms of The Interview, the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur, and the Chinese Bridge Club (Kuala Lumpur). This documentary promises to deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of Malaysia and China, infusing fresh vitality into the development of bilateral relations in the years to come.
