“Integration Harmony: Silk Road Fine Arts International Touring Exhibition For Renowned Chinese Painters” (Kuala Lumpur) Officially Launched

Co-hosted by Cultural and Arts Publishing House Co., Ltd. and the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur, “Integration Harmony: Silk Road Fine Arts International Touring Exhibition For Renowned Chinese Painters” (Kuala Lumpur) officially launched at the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
This exhibition is part of the 2024 Communication, Exchange, and Promotion Projects supported by the China National Arts Fund. Over 80 guests attended the opening ceremony, including Mr. Baktiar Naim bin Jaaffar, Director of the Media and Arts Development Division of the National Art Gallery; Madam Siri Guleng, Acting Director, Editor-in-Chief, and Senior Editor of Biographical Literature at China Culture and Art Publishing House Co., Ltd.; Mr. Zeng Sankai, Mr. Zeng Sankai, Deputy Director and National First-Class Artist of the Institute of Chinese Painting, Chinese National Academy of Arts; Mr. Chen Chuang, Second Secretary of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia; Madam Han Ning, Director of the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur; as well as participating artists, cultural figures, and media representatives from both China and Malaysia.

Madam Siri Guleng highlighted that the exhibition is not only a concentrated showcase of Chinese ink art but also an important cultural exchange initiative between China and Malaysia. Featuring representative works by 26 Chinese artists, the exhibition integrates traditional brushwork with contemporary expression, aiming to promote artistic dialogue and mutual understanding under the Belt and Road Initiative. She emphasized that Integration and Harmony conveys the ideas of cultural fusion and mutual understanding. Through this exhibition, she hopes to deepen the friendship between the people of both countries and inject new momentum into the global reach of Chinese culture.

Mr. Zeng Sankai speaking on behalf of the participating artists stated that Integration and Harmony demonstrates both the inheritance and innovation of Chinese ink painting while serving as a valuable platform for cross-cultural exchange. The touring exhibition provides a rare opportunity for face-to-face dialogue between artists from China and Malaysia, fostering mutual understanding and shared growth, and infusing Chinese ink painting with new vitality within a multicultural global context.

Madam Han Ning noted that the exhibition, as a key project supported by the China National Arts Fund, represents a deep cultural dialogue between the art communities of China and Malaysia. Integration and Harmony is not only the theme of the exhibition but also a reflection of the spirit of cultural integration and artistic exchange. She expressed the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur’s continued commitment to building platforms for communication and enhancing mutual understanding and friendship through art.

This exhibition features representative works by 26 renowned Chinese painters, covering traditional subjects such as landscapes, figures, and birds-and-flowers. It showcases the profound legacy of traditional brush-and-ink techniques alongside explorations infused with modern aesthetics. By presenting the unique charm of Chinese painting and calligraphy, the exhibition serves as a significant platform for cultural exchange between China and Malaysia.

Rooted in the cultural genes of China, Chinese painting vividly embodies the unique spiritual temperament and aesthetic ideals of the Chinese people. It represents a brilliant chapter in the visual narrative of Chinese civilization. In the context of globalization, promoting Chinese painting on the world stage is a vital step in contributing Chinese aesthetic values to the shared future of humanity. “Integration Harmony: Silk Road Fine Arts International Touring Exhibition for Renowned Chinese Painters” (Kuala Lumpur) is open to visitors from now until August 5 (Tuesday). Opening hours are from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, closed on Sundays and public holidays. Admission is free.
