The conference featured policy announcements, business matchmaking, cooperation agreements, resource promotions, exhibitions, and site inspections. During the event, the Beijing Municipal Government released the Beijing Inbound Tourism Service Optimization Special Action Plan and launched ten themed “New Discoveries in Beijing” inbound tourism routes, aiming to support Beijing’s development into a global tourism destination and a top choice for inbound travel to China.

More than 270 travel trade representatives from over 40 countries and regions, as well as representatives from international organizations such as the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF), and the World Cities Culture Forum (WCCF), attended the opening ceremony. As one of China’s key ASEAN source markets, the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur organized a delegation of 19 Malaysian travel agency representatives to participate in the event in Beijing.

During the conference, several major initiatives were unveiled to promote inbound tourism in Beijing. American Express and Japan’s JCB cards will support direct tap-to-pay access to the Beijing subway by the end of June. Mastercard will launch a cashback program for international tourists using tap-to-pay on public transit. Trip.com Group has upgraded its free “Beijing Express” half-day tour service at the Capital Airport into a comprehensive one-stop inbound travel service centre, offering a wide range of tourism information services.

In response to current trends in inbound tourism—such as increasing demand for independent travel, personalization, and in-depth experiences—the organizers introduced ten themed “New Discoveries in Beijing” inbound routes. Tailored packages were also launched for short-term visitors and those entering under visa-free transit policies, offering half-day and full-day tour products focused on cultural heritage, theme parks, culinary shopping, and artistic and trendy experiences.

To showcase Beijing’s innovations in inbound tourism services, the conference spotlighted eight key scenarios: visa and itinerary booking, transportation, payment, accommodation, shopping, entertainment, intangible cultural heritage, and technology. Representatives from Beijing Immigration Inspection, Beijing Taxation Bureau, airlines, airports, travel agencies, hotels, performance companies, intangible cultural heritage bearers, and tech firms were invited to present integrated services and products to overseas travel trade professionals.

As 2026 marks the Malaysia Year of Tourism, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism signed a memorandum of cooperation with the cultural and tourism authorities of Kuala Lumpur. The two sides plan to strengthen collaboration in areas such as joint promotion and cultural events.

During the conference, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism awarded Global Strategic Partner certificates to Capital Airport, Daxing Airport, Air China, China Southern Airlines, Mastercard, Visa, ITB China, Deloitte China, Trip.com Group, and travel trade representatives from major source markets. Under this partnership framework, both sides will actively promote Beijing tourism products overseas, obtain timely and accurate market feedback, and develop more targeted international marketing strategies. The bureau will also help partners build deeper collaborations with high-quality tourism enterprises in China and the Beijing region. Many travel companies expressed strong confidence in Beijing’s inbound tourism market and their intention to launch more inbound products.

Following the conference, the Malaysian travel delegation continued with inspection tours to Hangzhou and Sanya and attended the “2025 Global Travel Trade Development Conference” in Hangzhou.
