Winter Solstice Festival Open Day and International Confucius Culture Exchange Program | Open for Registration

To enhance the international dissemination of Confucian culture and deepen cultural exchanges and mutual learning, the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the Network International Culturalink Entities and the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, proudly presents the Winter Solstice Festival Open Day and International Confucius Culture Exchange Program. The event will take place on December 21, 2024 (Saturday), from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We sincerely invite the public to deeply engage in Confucian cultural experiences and appreciate the profound essence and charm of Confucian and traditional Chinese culture.

Coinciding with the arrival of the Winter Solstice, the event also invites the public to celebrate this traditional festival. The Winter Solstice carries both natural and cultural significance, serving as an important solar term in the traditional Chinese calendar and a major traditional festival. Among the people, it is often said that “the Winter Solstice is as important as the New Year.” Furthermore, the Winter Solstice was regarded as the “Teacher’s Day” in ancient China, during which students would pay respects to their teachers and perform rituals to honor Confucius, the great sage of Chinese culture.

Event Highlights include the “Eternal Confucius” Theme Photo Exhibition, Winter Solstice Festival Cultural Photo Exhibition, hands-on experiences of the Six Arts of Confucius (Rites – Hanfu, Music – Guzheng, Archery – Pitch-pot Game, Charioteering – Ancient Carriage Model, Calligraphy – Round Fan and Calligraphy, Mathematics – Burr Puzzle Challenge), Sharing Session of Confucius Six Arts, Sharing Session of Seasonal Tea Arts, mesmerizing Guzheng performances by students of CCCKL, and a delightful tasting of Glutinous Rice Balls (Tangyuan) .

Join us for this cultural journey and immerse yourself in the timeless wisdom and warmth of the season! Registration is open to the public.
