China Cultural Centre & Airasia Joint Fam Tour Delegation To Gansu
As a means to vigorously promote winter and spring tourism route products of Gansu province, sustainable measures had been taken to open up tourist source markets for its winter and spring tourism to complement with Malaysian airlines AirAsia’s continued direct dedicated flights for Lanzhou-Kuala Lumpur air route and actively harness the advantages of cultural tourism-cum-aviation. At the invitation of Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Kuala Lumpur China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur and AirAsia Airlines jointly organized Malaysia AirAsia Familiarization (FAM) Tour Delegation of 9 people to Gansu Province on December 22th-29th.
The FAM tour group conducted its 8-day inspection trip to Dunhuang, Jiayuguan, Zhangye, Linxia, Lanzhou and other places of interest. At the same time, the cultural tourism bureau held a special promotion on cultural tourism products, showed its local rich cultural tourism resources to the delegates. The tour group carried out in-depth fact-finding and shooting on the scenic spots, local conditions and customs and special cuisine. The outcome of this filming resulted in the production of Gansu cultural tourism promotional documentary for long-term promotion on AirAsia routes.
Malaysia was an important source market for inbound tourists of Gansu province. Earlier this month, the “China Gansu Special Promotion Event of Cultural & Tourism” cultural tourism series organized by the Gansu Provincial Department of culture and tourism, was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, Malaysia, thereby setting off “Gansu fever” and “Malaysia fever” in both places. This year, Malaysian tourist arrivals into Gansu had tripled from 2018 and leapt to the fourth place in the inbound tourism market of Gansu province. With the opening of the air route and publicity blitz, the number of inbound tourists for both places would continue to grow.
