This film tells the story of Shaolin monk Yan Zhi spreading Shaolin culture in Malaysia. Faced with language barriers, cultural differences, and even survival challenges in a foreign land, Shaolin monk Yan Zhi did not choose to back down. Instead, relying on his deep love for Shaolin culture and indomitable will, he gradually overcame difficulties and successfully promoted Chinese martial arts in Malaysia, winning the respect and love of the local people. This not only demonstrates the indomitable spirit of the Chinese nation, but also highlights the enormous value of cultural exchange and integration.

This film combines the historical milestone of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of friendly diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, and through a narrative framework of individual struggle and collective efforts, showcases the unique charm of Chinese culture, the beauty of human nature, and the harmony between different cultures.

We’re proud to present you the latest documentary film “Shaolin Martial Artist” which directed by Liu Le, the Associate Professor of Nanfang College GuangZhou on 2nd June (Sunday), 2PM at China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur together with the protagonist, Shaolin monk Yan Zhi.

Following the screening, the director and the team from the Shaolin Cultural Center in Kuala Lumpur will have an interaction with the audience, and showcasing Shaolin Kung Fu on the spot!
